The first BRAINSTORING event took place this weekend. It was a new experience for us as well. On Friday afternoon, after registration, the participants could get familiar with the seven applying ideas, and decide which one would they like to support. Three teams of 7 people, the Viables, the Supervisors and the Köz, were able to develop the entire project plan related to their idea during the whole weekend.

15 mentors helped prepare the project plans and lead the teams professionally thanks to the Homoród-Küküllő Leader Association and the Kohó professional working group.

On Friday and Saturday, the work went on until late at night, and on Sunday morning, they started all over again. Everyone was enthusiastically preparing for the project presentation. It started at 2:00 p.m., where each team was given 3 minutes to present their plan, and the jury had exactly 7 minutes to ask follow up questions about the projects. The jury consisted of the supporters of the Trust Fund and a few other individual, independent of the support fund.

After the presentations, one of the host, Albert Orsolya, and actor Tamás Jakab took the main role, and conducted different team-building games in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

Based on the results of the jury, out of the three projects, the KÖZ was selected to receive the support of the Trust Fund, i.e. the award of 50,000 RON. Their plan includes the creation of a community space that will give parents, small children, and teenagers a place to have a good chat over a coffee and spend their time in a relaxed atmosphere. Providing them with the opportunity to organize joint programs, e.g. recitals, concerts, etc., and organizing different activities of other associations as well. The project manager, Vanda Tamás, stated that everyone will be warmly welcomed either in the creative process or in the finished center as well.

However, as organizers, we believe that every person who joined the BRAINSTORMING event is a winner, as they were able to gain valuable human relationships, a ready-made project plan and experiences. László Lázár, the coordinator of the Kohó professional working group, stated that social and relational capital is enriched by use, so everyone who joined this creative process left influenced and satisfied.

Sándor Albert, curator of the OSCF, supporter of the Trust Fund, and jury member, thanked all the participants for not choosing the comfort over the hard work, and for coming, participating, and working hard during the weekend. So, a big thank you to all the participants for contributing to the development of our local community.

The BRAINSTORMING event would not have been possible without the support of the Trust Fund, from which, in addition to the main prize, we were able to cover half of the organization costs of the event. The other half was financed by the City Kaláka support fund. In addition, special thanks to the Kohó professional working group for helping the teams through the difficulties of the weekend with their expertise and mentoring. Thanks to Albert Orsolya and Attila Szabó, the hosts of the event, and for the Harghita Business Center for “hosting” the event (spacewise).

We thank L. Lajos Lőrincz for the wonderful pictures that bring back those wonderful memories.
