With our Well-minded Odorhei initiative started together with the RDE Harghita Waste Management Company, now we have 2 teams exploring environmental awareness and trying to take actions through our monthly workshops.
Last week, Antal Hajnal, CEO of Selected Bags, spoke about the relationship between the environment and fashion. This was the first time for the second group of Well- minded Odorhei, they met the topic of sustainable fashion within the framework of this initiative.
Sustainable fashion is the need of the hour. In addition to the harmful effects of the fashion industry, one of the most polluting industries in the world, the participants were also introduced to some ideas on what to look for when choosing any fashion items. Hajnal also drew our attention to the environmentally conscious alternatives and the fact that recycling plays a very important role here as well.
We also learned that only one single T-shirt requires 1 kg of cotton and 2,700 liters of water. Certainly, most fashion industries still do not pay enough attention to the disastrous consequences of their products.
The participants, as consumer left the meeting with a friendly reminder to be conscious about what they buy and wear. We can still be trendy without costing the environment and the society badly.
