On Saturday, July 6th, the Budvar XC event was held. The novel MTB race was the closing event of the „Let’s Get Out!” project. The just recently built bicycle trail was inaugurated by the racers.
A total of 69 cyclists took off from the Csicser farm on Saturday morning to head to the nearby Budvar. The 12 km course full of exciting sections was completly ready for the riders. Competitors came not only from Odorheiu Secuiesc, but also from several nearby settlements, such as Miercurea-Ciuc, Sf. Gherorghe, Vlahita and Odorheiu Secuiesc.
Participants were awarded in four age groups, assessing the performance of men and women in separate categories. A total of 9 women started to tackle the difficult terrain and were determined to successfully complete the race. The oldest and youngest participants were also awarded special prizes. The weather condition was absoultely perfect for the race, and the riders could roll around all day in bright sunshine.
The bike trail turned out to be really well done, so we recommend it to all off-road bikers.
