During the last month six applications have been posted on our Give-Get-Do online crowdfunding site, out of which three have already reached their goal.
The Community Foundation decided to encourage the project teams by matching the amount gathered for the first three projects. After the Szent Gellért Foundation, the Youth Forum from Odorhei managed to raise 400 EUR for their „Bare Feet Park in Odorheiu Secuiesc” project, followed by Aeroporlis Floorball Sport Association with a 250 EUR funding for their Breathing Healthy project.
Vass Orsolya, project leader of Bare Feet Park in Odorheiu Secuiesc project has talked about the main points and hurdles of „selling” such a project to the public: it’s important to have a clear professional background, the marketing of the project description as well as the use of the social network of each of the participants. Amongst the number of supporters there are companies and NGOs who will get advertising space for their contribution in the Barefeet Park.
Somogyi Attila, project manager of Breathing Healthy initiative has told us that friends and aquiantances of the members of their organization have been eager to help right from the beginning, but using Facebook as a media support has also proven useful. Regarding the new form of fundraising he has declared that PayPal is still under used in our region, so they found it a reasonable idea to gather funds in cash first on one account then use PayPal to transfer it into GGD. The program shall start in September 2013 and backers will get a surprise present from the team.
Congratulations and good luck for the implementation of these projects!
