The third meeting of the “Well-minded Odorhei” just happened last week. What could have been the theme other than Easter?
Participants were able to learn about different technics and plants suitable for egg dying, as well as to test their effectiveness. In addition to the already known onion peel, the purple cabbage, beets, spinach, turmeric and even carrots can also be used to color Easter eggs.
The recipes came from Magdolna Bákai and Mária Bálint. It’s really easy, no need to add a lot of things, and if you plan an environment friendly Easter, here are the recipes.
However, not only the dyed eggs are traditional for Easter, but also there is another old tradition, the “watering”, when the boys “sprinkle” the girls with some perfumed water. This can also be done consciously. Lavender grower Ildikó Miklósi was also present at the workshop, where she presented the process of distillation, from which various perfumed water and essential oils can be obtained. First lavender and then yarrow was added to the distillery device. The beneficial effect of the lavender water obtained this way is significant. By clicking here you can also find out what other things it is good for. Distilling the yarrow was also spectacular, as it resulted in light blue water.
In addition to this amazing experience, the participants could return home with some painted eggs, lavender water and a deep motivation to recharge and prepare for the this beautiful holiday.
