The first initiative of our group Livable Odorhei was successfully finalized: at the beginning of May the local department of the Carpathian Society of Transylvania (uEKE) inaugurated the Budvar – Csicser marked hiking trail. The idea of the marked hiking trail belongs to vice president of uEKE, Tibor Kiss who presented it on our first meetings last year.
The hiking trail is about 1o Km-s long (about 6,2 miles) and offers the possibility of an easy walk around the western hills neighboring the town of Odorheiu Secuiesc. The initiators of the project placed informational boards along the trail, offering various information about the local flora and fauna, geological characteristics and local legends as well. Members of the uEKE painted hundreds of road signs, (orange colored letter B lying horizontally on a white background).
The Community Foundation supported the project with 5000 RON.
The trail can be used for hiking and for biking as well.
