The second meeting of the Livable Odorhei group has been held on the 19th of February. Our aim is to initiate, to known and to coordinate environmental projects dedicated to build a strong environmentally conscious, healthy and active community in and around Odorheiu Secuiesc.
During our meeting we held discussions about the Budvár-Csicser marked pathway as well as the importance of bycicle safety in our town. Next to the already active NGOs like Szekler Teker, Transylvanian Carpathian Association and Feel Good Sport Association we had the Blue Sky Association in attendance as a new participant. After the two main discussions we had the following points to talk through: upcoming environmental protection actions, spring cleaning of our surroundings, a planned running camp as well as the promotion of responsible consumption amoungst students.
Szilárd Simon and Emőke Kiss have participated on a two day training focused on safe bycicle in traffic organised by the Hungarian Bringa Academy, sponsored by the Mures Community Foundation and have shared their newly aquired knowledge with us.
At the end of our meeting we finally discussed a new type of cyclist event, called Tweed Run and its possible implementation locally. In the same time a common event calendar has been prepared, containing the information about the events in and around Odorheiu Secuiesc, organised by local NGOs.
